The stats say that it’s the right time

It might sound unbelievable that Boxing Day is a good time to sell your home, even with the excellent justifications above. However, Rightmove, Zoopla, and others all indicate with their stats that they see a huge increase in visits on Boxing Day. Furthermore, many real estate websites note an increase in page clicks and views of houses straight after Christmas.

Even if you’re not going to sell your home immediately, it’s clear that you can take advantage of all the extra exposure that you might have. Getting your home up on all the most widely trafficked real estate sites in time is key. 

Getting your house ready for the Boxing Day sale

Given that most people are going to be checking the real estate websites immediately after the big day, you want to make sure that your property is uploaded and ready to view before Christmas comes. This means that you have to move quick if you want to take advantage. Don’t worry if you can only get it up on Boxing Day, however, as you have up until New Years’ to capitalize on the extra exposure. 

While rushing to get your property listed, do not make the mistake of using photos that have any festive decorations up. For one, it offers a very poor view of the property with all that clutter in the way. It’s going to quickly become outdated, too.
